The UK Maths challenge was set up allow students of different ages to pit their wits against other students both in their school and in other schools throughout the UK. Their are three levels: Junior (year 8), Intermediate (Year 11) and Senior (Year13). At each level students can gain Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates and Gold winners can then enter the British Mathematical Olympiad.
The questions test problem solving and inventiveness rather then maths knowledge.
TI-nspire is a new piece of software which we have been asked to trial at St Paul's. This course is the central point for resources to use and also for you to provide feedback.
We can learn about geometry by constructing 2D and even 3D shapes that can be reflected, rotated, translated and dilated. We can use iteration to repeat transformations to achieve stunning results!
